Sydney Grammar School is an independent secular boys' day school incorporated by an Act of the New South Wales Parliament in 1854 and opened at College Street in Darlinghurst in 1857. The senior school (Years 7-12) occupies the historic College Street campus, with preparatory schools at Edgecliff (Paddington) and St Ives in Sydney's north.
The school offers a liberal academic curriculum organised around breadth of study, culminating in the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC). Subjects span English, mathematics, sciences, classical and modern languages, humanities, music, drama, visual arts and design. Grammar is a member of the Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales (AAGPS).
