Western Australia's first university, founded in 1911 on the Crawley campus beside the Swan River and offering undergraduate and postgraduate study across five faculties.

The University of Western Australia (UWA) was established in 1911 by an Act of the Western Australian Parliament as the state's first university. Teaching began in 1913, and the university's main Crawley campus now occupies a riverside site at 35 Stirling Highway, overlooking Matilda Bay on Whadjuk Noongar country.

UWA offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across five faculties: arts, business and law, engineering and mathematical sciences, health and medical sciences, and science. The university is a member of the Group of Eight and maintains a strong research profile in medicine, agriculture, engineering and the humanities.
