The Australian National University (ANU) is Australia's national university, established on 1 August 1946 by an Act of the Federal Parliament. Its main Acton campus sits in Canberra on the traditional lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, a short distance from Parliament House and the national cultural institutions.
