Australia's first university, founded in 1850 in Sydney and offering undergraduate and postgraduate study across eight faculties on its historic Camperdown campus.

The University of Sydney is Australia's first university, established by an Act of the New South Wales Parliament on 1 October 1850. Its main Camperdown/Darlington campus is located at the corner of Parramatta and City roads, close to Sydney's central business district and inner-west neighbourhoods.

The university offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across eight faculties, including arts and social sciences, engineering, medicine and health, science, business, law, architecture, design and planning, and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. It is a sandstone university and a member of the Group of Eight.
